During the 2015 Future Book Forum in Munich, Germany, Printforce and Brill won the Innovation Award. Both partners were recognized for their pioneering cooperation that has led to optimal POD quality and fast, reliable delivery and zero warehouse. Out of four presenting international candidates, Printforce and Brill managed to convince hundreds of industry professionals, showcasing their unique and innovative partnership.
POD technology is quickly improving, however, large variances in quality and costs are still visible in the industry. The joint presentation showed how Printforce is continuously innovating to keep up with the high quality demands of publishers like Brill, whilst not compromising on costs and time-to-market. These joint developments have enabled the academic publisher to have 90% of their new book titles, and 99% of their journals, produced in digital print-to-order (PTO).
“The cooperation with Printforce helps Brill to stay flexible and innovative”, according to Emile Kranendonk, team lead Production & Distribution at Brill Publishers. He further adds: “There is no traditional buyer-supplier relationship with Printforce, but a true partnership, in which we closely cooperate to realise products of the highest quality for our customers.”
“By cooperating as partners, Printforce and Brill managed to create impressive gains in inventory management, total cost of ownership, and reliability,” said Rombout Eikelenboom, managing partner at Printforce. “Getting recognition for our achievements with this industry prize makes us very proud.”
